Chp. 5 part 2

I believe cartoons do not send hidden messages. People that think there are hidden messages in cartoons are the people that are looking for wierd things. Cartoons are not sending any messages about homosexuals and the issue is brought up by people thinking nonsense. Cartoons are shows on tv for kids to be entertained, just like how there are shows for adults. I will admit most reality shows are trash because it influences the younger generation. In every reality show people know they are being filmed so obviously they are gonna act a little different than in real life. The dating reality shows make it seem like life is easy and falling in love with someone is even easier, but in real life it is not easy. But their are some reality shows that are good because they inform the younger generation on things that will help them in their future.  For example shows like MTV True Life where they show the negative effects of things helps open our societies eyes to certain things.  I dont think art has only one meaing. Everyone has their own opinion on art, one may think its the ugliest piece of art they have ever approached, but another may think its the best.

Chp. 5

Images surround us everywhere we go and was amazed how true it is that people go to certain images during certain times. For example, in article 1 it asks why so many people turn certain images during a war or crises? I think this is because most of us support one another especially in our country when people have to be their for each other. As our country fights people show their appreciation by putting up certain stickers on cars and windows.
Images also persuade people to do things. The example the book gives is Hitler and how he persuaded tons of people to back him and help him. But it also can just be images in our everyday lives. Like images on commercials and magazines. For example a Carls Jr commercial with a beautiful model in her bikini eating a burger from their will grab peoples attention and persuade them to eat one of them as well just cuz a model was eating one.
